A lot of fans are in shock at how much their team has changed since the start of the season.
One fan, who asked not to be identified, told Fox Sports he is still “stunned” by the team’s recent struggles.
“When I first heard about the Gators, I thought, ‘What the heck is going on?'” the fan said.
“It’s not good.
I’m still shocked.”AJ, the nickname given to Gator Nation following the loss of quarterback Nick Fitzgerald, was born after the Gators lost to Auburn and Alabama, respectively, in the 2016 College Football Playoff National Championship.
The fan added that it took time for fans to get used to the name.
“The name AJ came out of a time when I didn’t really know what it was,” the fan explained.
“So when it was called ‘AJC’, it wasn’t really anything I thought.
Now, it’s been a lot of fun.”

I’ve never been a big fan of the team before, but I’m glad I got the chance to get a nickname.”
